Cryotherapy left a pale mark

Wart gone, but the skin there is noticeably lighter than the rest. Is that permanent?

Pigment change after freezing is common and it happens because the treatment affects pigment producing cells along with the wart tissue. It often improves over months.

It can be long lasting, particularly on darker skin, which is worth raising before further sessions rather than after.

Mine faded substantially over about a year but did not disappear entirely. Honestly it bothered me much less than the wart did.

If you have more treatment ahead, ask whether a different method would be preferable for you. Pigment change is a legitimate factor in choosing between the options and clinicians will discuss it if you raise it.
