Do condoms help at all with warts?

If it transmits skin to skin, is there any point at all?

They help but they do not eliminate it, for the same geometric reason as with herpes. A condom covers some of the skin that can carry the virus and not all of it.

Studies do show lower transmission with consistent use, and also faster clearance of existing infection in some couples, so it is worthwhile rather than pointless.

They are also doing work against everything else, which is easy to lose sight of when one infection dominates the conversation.

Remember some of the topical treatments damage latex. During a treatment course the advice may be to avoid sex rather than to rely on a condom.
