Gonorrhea

Both gonorrhoea and chlamydia. One treatment or two?

Positive for both. Given an injection and a course of tablets. Is that two treatments or one treatment split up?

Two treatments, one for each organism. They are different bacteria and nothing covers both reliably any more.

The guidance changed a few years ago: treating gonorrhoea automatically with a second drug for everyone was dropped, and now the tablets are added when chlamydia has actually been found or not excluded. In your case it was found.

Which matters because the two have different follow up. Finish the tablet course properly even though the injection is already done, and take note that the retest timing may differ between them.

Also both are on the notification list, and partners may need both treatments. Easy to mention only the one that involved the needle.
