Immune suppression and HPV

On medication that suppresses my immune system for an unrelated condition. Does that change my HPV situation?

It does. Reduced immune function is associated with lower clearance rates, more persistent infection and higher risk of progression, which is why several conditions come with modified screening schedules.

What that means in your case depends on the medication and the condition, and it is a question for the team managing that rather than for a general service.

Make sure the two teams know about each other. Screening recall systems are usually population wide and will not automatically know you are on immunosuppressive treatment.

Vaccination is also often recommended more widely in this situation, sometimes at ages outside the usual eligibility. Worth raising at the same conversation.
