Pubic lice

Scratched it raw and now it looks infected

Skin is broken in a couple of places, one area is red, swollen and sore rather than itchy.

Get that looked at. Secondary bacterial infection of scratched skin is common with this and it needs treating in its own right, usually with something quite different from the lice treatment.

Pain and swelling replacing itch is the pattern to act on rather than watch.

Do not apply the insecticide lotion to broken skin without asking first. Absorption and irritation both change when the skin barrier is gone.

Nails short, hands off, and something to reduce the itch so you stop scratching while the other problem is treated. Breaking that loop is most of the fix.
