Pubic lice

Do they carry anything?

Head lice apparently do not spread disease. Is that the same here?

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

They are not known to transmit infections themselves. The relevance to sexual health is what they indicate rather than what they carry.

Because they are passed through close body contact, having them is a reason to be screened for other infections, and rates of finding something else are meaningful.

That is the part people skip. They treat the lice, feel resolved, and never get the full screen that the diagnosis was pointing at.

Ask for a full screen at the same appointment. You are already there, already having the awkward conversation, and it costs you nothing extra.
