Hair falling out in patches

Diagnosed with secondary syphilis last month. Now losing hair in odd irregular patches. Is that connected or is this stress?

Connected, most likely. Patchy hair loss with a moth eaten appearance is a described feature of secondary syphilis and it can affect scalp, eyebrows and beard.

It generally regrows after treatment, though it takes months rather than weeks.

Do mention it at your follow up, partly so it is documented as part of the picture and partly because a clinician can distinguish it from other causes of patchy hair loss.

Mine came back fully over about five months. It was genuinely distressing at the time and it was one of the first things that resolved once treatment was under way.
