Ringing in my ears since the diagnosis

Persistent ringing and my hearing seems slightly muffled on one side. Started around the time of diagnosis. Probably anxiety, but the eye thread here made me think twice.

Ask specifically for it to be considered rather than mentioning it in passing. It is the kind of symptom that gets attributed to something else in a busy appointment if it is not stated clearly.

Take it to your clinic promptly rather than assuming anxiety. Hearing loss and tinnitus can be a manifestation of syphilis affecting the ear, and like the eye it is treated more intensively than uncomplicated infection.

It is much easier to reverse when it is caught early.

It may well turn out to be unrelated, and that is a fine outcome. The cost of checking is one appointment and the cost of not checking is potentially permanent.
