Titre went up instead of down

Treated four months ago. The number at my last test is higher than it was before treatment. I am trying not to panic.

A rising titre after treatment is taken seriously and it generally means one of two things: reinfection, or treatment that did not work.

It is assessed rather than assumed, and the questions they will ask are about sex since treatment and about whether you completed the course.

A fourfold rise is the threshold usually used as significant, because small movements between tests are within normal variation. Ask what the actual numbers were rather than reading the direction alone.

They may also talk about examining the nervous system depending on the picture. That sounds alarming and is a standard step rather than a sign that something terrible has happened.
