Trichomoniasis

Towels, pools, hot tubs

Read that this one survives outside the body better than the others. Is non sexual transmission realistic?

The organism does survive somewhat better in moisture than some others, and there are case reports of transmission through shared damp objects. It remains rare.

Chlorinated pools and hot tubs are not a realistic route. Overwhelmingly this is sexually transmitted.

I would be careful about reaching for the non sexual explanation. It is real but rare, and a partner going untreated on the strength of it is how people end up back here in a month.

The exception worth taking seriously is trichomoniasis found in a child, which needs proper assessment rather than an assumption about towels.
