Trichomoniasis

Given a single dose but I read women should get seven days

Treated with a single dose. Afterwards I read that a longer course is recommended for women and now I am wondering whether I got the right thing.

Your reading is right about the current CDC position. For women the recommendation moved to a seven day course rather than the single dose, because the trial comparing them found the longer course roughly halved the proportion of women testing positive again at the follow up visit.

For men the single dose is still the recommended approach.

Go back and ask. Not as a complaint, just say what you were given and ask whether the longer course applies to you. Guidance is not identical everywhere and there may be a reason, but this is a fair question and an easy one for them to answer.

Whatever they decide, make sure your partner is being treated too. Retreating you while an untreated partner is still around is the fastest way back to where you started.
