Chlamydia

Do I really need to avoid alcohol during treatment?

Week long course, a wedding on Saturday. Pharmacist did not mention alcohol, the internet is split. Straight answer?

For the common chlamydia regimens there is no specific alcohol interaction of the kind people imagine. The advice you see is mostly general caution rather than a documented reaction.

Ask your own pharmacist about the exact thing you were given, because they know what you are holding and it takes thirty seconds.

The bigger risk at a wedding is not the drink, it is forgetting a dose or two and undermining the course. Put an alarm on.

And the abstinence part is the one people actually break at weddings. Whatever your clinic said about waiting before sex, that is the instruction that determines whether you are back here in three months.
