Chlamydia

Joint pain a few weeks after chlamydia. Connected?

Treated about a month ago. Since then one knee has been swollen and sore, and my eyes have been irritated. Probably unrelated but the timing bothers me.

Take that combination to a doctor and mention the chlamydia explicitly. Joint inflammation following certain infections, chlamydia among them, is a recognised thing, and the pattern of a joint plus eye irritation is exactly the combination that makes a clinician think of it.

It is uncommon, so nobody will connect it if you do not say it out loud.

Do not let anyone dismiss it as coincidence without hearing the timeline. I had to give mine the dates twice before it registered.

Worth saying it is not the infection sitting in the joint, it is a reaction that follows it, which is why it can appear after treatment. That confused me for a while.
