Anal warts, is treatment different?

Diagnosed with warts in and around the anus. Slightly different appointment from what friends described and I want to understand why.

The location changes things. Warts inside the anal canal need someone to look inside rather than treating what is visible outside, which is why the appointment is different.

Some home treatments are not suitable internally, so the options may be narrower.

Worth asking about screening for the area at the same time. Anal HPV is a separate conversation from the warts themselves, and whether any screening is recommended for you depends on your own risk factors and where you are.

Say plainly if the appointment was uncomfortable or you felt rushed. This is a routine presentation for them and there is no reason for it to be an ordeal.
