Injection site still sore days later

Had the injection, and the site has been aching and hard for several days. Normal or worth going back?

Soreness and a firm lump at the site for a few days is common and usually settles on its own. It is an intramuscular injection and it is not a gentle one.

What is not routine: spreading redness, increasing pain, heat, or a fever. Any of those, go back.

Mine ached for the better part of a week. The nurse had warned me and I still nearly rang about it.

Do not let it put you off the follow up appointment if they booked one, especially if yours was a throat infection. The sore arm is temporary, the follow up swab is the bit that confirms it has gone.
