How long before I can have sex again after treatment?

Treated this week. Got a rough answer at the door that I did not really take in, and now I am not sure whether the clock starts from the first tablet or the last one.

The usual advice is to wait until treatment is complete and then a further period on top, and crucially until any partner has also been treated. That second half is the part people drop.

For a course of tablets the clock starts at the last dose, not the first. For a single dose treatment it starts from that dose.

If you go back before your partner has been treated you are very likely to get it straight back. That is not bad luck, it is arithmetic, and it is why half the reinfection threads here exist.

Ring the clinic and ask for the exact date. They will give you one. Do not try to reconstruct it from a half remembered sentence.
