Do I need to do anything about sex toys?

Diagnosed and treated. Nobody mentioned this and I feel silly asking, but do I need to bin things or is cleaning enough?

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

Cleaning is enough in almost every case. Wash with soap and warm water, follow whatever the manufacturer says about the material, and dry it properly. You are not dealing with something that survives indefinitely on a surface.

The bigger point is not sharing without cleaning in between, and using a fresh condom on a shared toy if you do share.

Porous materials are harder to clean thoroughly than non porous ones. If something is old, cheap and visibly degraded, that is a reasonable moment to replace it, but not out of panic.

It is not a silly question and it comes up far more than you would think. The reason nobody mentioned it is that clinics are working through a list, not because the answer is obvious.
