Trichomoniasis

The smell has not gone

Finished the course. Discharge improved, the smell has not. Do I need retreating?

Go back rather than retreating on assumption. Persistent odour after trich treatment is often bacterial vaginosis, which is extremely common alongside it and which sometimes needs its own treatment or recurs.

Retreating for trich would not address it.

Worth mentioning to avoid a detour: douching makes this worse rather than better, and it is what everyone reaches for. It disrupts the balance that is already disrupted.

Ask for a proper assessment rather than a repeat prescription over the phone. Several different things produce the same symptom and guessing between them wastes weeks.
