Can HPV cause bleeding?

Bleeding after sex for a couple of months. HPV positive on my last screen. Are these connected?

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

A normal screening result does not rule out a symptom needing investigation. Screening is for people without symptoms, and there is a different pathway for people with them.

Do get this assessed rather than waiting for the next screening interval. Bleeding after sex has several possible causes, including infection and cervical changes, and it is a symptom that warrants a look regardless of your last result.

HPV infection itself does not usually cause symptoms. Changes it has caused can.

Ring and say bleeding after sex specifically. Those words move you into a different queue in most systems and you should not have to fight for it.
