HPV

Can I pass HPV to my partner if my last screen was clear?

Cleared on my last two screens. Partner asked whether he could still catch it from me and I did not have an answer.

Clearing means the virus is no longer detectable, and once it is undetectable transmission becomes much less likely. Much less likely is not the same as impossible, and nobody can give you a zero.

Also worth knowing that screening looks for HPV at a specific site, so a clear result is a statement about what was sampled, not a whole body certificate.

Something that reframed this for me: HPV is extraordinarily common and most sexually active adults encounter it at some point. Framing it as something you might give him, rather than something both of you are already living in the same world as, puts more weight on you than the biology does.

The most useful thing he can do is get vaccinated if he has not been, and keep up with whatever screening applies to him. Both are more productive than trying to calculate a number for this.
