Do I need to tell my own doctor, or does the clinic do that?

Treated at a sexual health clinic. Nobody said anything about my regular doctor and I do not know whether it lands in my notes automatically.

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

It varies by country and often by service. In a lot of places sexual health clinics keep records separately and will only write to your regular doctor if you agree to it, which is why they usually ask.

If nobody asked you, that most likely means nothing was sent. Ring and confirm rather than assuming either way.

There is a case for telling your own doctor voluntarily in some situations, for instance if you are on medication that interacts, or if you have a condition that changes how something should be treated. That is a different question from it being sent automatically.

Ask specifically what the clinic record says and who can see it. People imagine something far more visible than what is actually held, and hearing the real answer settles it.
