Do they test the rectum automatically or do I have to ask?

Booked a full screen and assumed full meant everywhere. Reading here it sounds like the sites they swab depend on what you tell them. Is a rectal swab something you have to specifically request?

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

In most services, yes, you have to have told them there was exposure at that site. They are not going to swab everywhere by default.

Rectal chlamydia is very often symptomless, so if it is not swabbed it is simply not found. A urine sample says nothing about it.

I asked and they did it without any discussion at all. It took about a minute and most services will let you self swab, which made it far less awkward than I had built it up to be.

Ask what your result letter actually covers as well. Mine said negative in big letters and only listed the sites they had sampled in small print underneath. Negative for what is the question worth asking.
