Chlamydia

Feel sick every time I take it. Can I take it with food?

Nausea within about twenty minutes of each dose. Four days to go and I am dreading each one.

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

Some things are advised to be kept apart from it by a couple of hours, dairy and indigestion remedies among them, because they can reduce absorption. So the food advice is not quite eat anything at any time.

Taking it with food is the usual first suggestion and it helps a lot of people. There is also advice about staying upright for a while afterwards and taking it with plenty of water, because the irritation can be partly in the oesophagus rather than the stomach.

Check with a pharmacist rather than me, but this is a well trodden problem with a standard answer.

What you should not do is silently stop. If it is genuinely unbearable, ring and say so. There are alternatives, and a completed different course beats an abandoned ideal one.
