How likely is infertility, really?

Diagnosed and treated. Every page I open mentions infertility and I have gone from mildly worried to unable to think about anything else.

The risk is real and it is much smaller than the way it is written about suggests.

The pathway is chlamydia going untreated long enough to cause pelvic inflammatory disease, and PID sometimes causing scarring. Each step is a fraction of the one before. Most people treated for chlamydia never develop PID at all.

You were diagnosed and treated. That is the intervention that prevents the pathway.

The thing actually worth knowing is what PID feels like, because that is the point where speed matters: pelvic or lower abdominal pain, pain during sex, unusual bleeding, fever. Any of that, go in rather than wait.

I spent months on this after my diagnosis. What finally helped was asking my clinic to tell me plainly whether anything in my case suggested it had spread. They said no in about ten seconds and I had been carrying it for weeks.
