How soon can I retest after treatment?

Finished treatment, symptoms gone. When is retesting actually meaningful rather than just picking up leftovers?

Two different questions again. Testing immediately after treatment can pick up material from organisms that are already dead, so a very early test can mislead you.

The retest that matters is the one that looks for reinfection, and for trichomoniasis that is commonly around three months. Reinfection rates are high enough that this is a routine recommendation rather than a precaution for unusual cases.

If symptoms come back before then, do not wait for the three month appointment. Returning symptoms is its own reason to go in, and they will want to know whether it is reinfection or treatment that did not work.

Book it while you are still in the room. I meant to arrange mine later, did not, and only remembered when symptoms returned five months on.
