Outbreaks every month since the diagnosis

Diagnosed five months ago and I have had something every single month. Everything I read says they become less frequent. Mine are not.

The first year is frequently the worst, and the decline people describe usually happens over years rather than months. So five months of monthly episodes is not a sign that you are an exception.

It is also a completely reasonable point to ask about daily suppressive treatment, which for most people reduces the number of outbreaks dramatically.

I went on suppressive treatment at almost exactly this point and it changed the shape of the year. Not a cure, but the constant waiting for the next one stopped, and that was the part that was actually wearing me down.

If you are already on suppressive treatment and still getting monthly episodes, say so clearly at your review. There is more than one drug in the class and doses can be adjusted.
