Pregnant and need treatment

Diagnosed and pregnant. The packet warnings have made me nervous about using anything.

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

Ask a pharmacist or your clinic rather than deciding from the leaflet. Some of the topical options are considered suitable in pregnancy and some are avoided, and the oral option is generally not used.

This is exactly the question pharmacists answer well and quickly.

Untreated is not the safer option. Persistent scratching leading to skin infection is a real problem and it is worse than a carefully chosen treatment.

Mention it at your antenatal appointment too. Not because it is dangerous, but because a full sexual health screen is a reasonable thing to have in pregnancy and this is a natural prompt for it.
