Rash has gone. Am I still infectious?

Treated a week ago and the rash has faded. Does that mean I am safe to have sex again?

The rash fading is not the marker. Ask your clinic for a date, because it depends on the stage and the treatment you had.

A common approach is to avoid sex until treatment is complete, lesions have healed, and your partner has been assessed and treated as needed.

Secondary syphilis rashes can come and go on their own regardless of treatment, which is part of why they are a poor guide to anything.

Get the date in writing along with your follow up blood test schedule. Those two appointments are the structure of the next year and they are easy to lose track of.
