Had a rash on my palms and the soles of my feet, which I thought was an allergy. GP took one look and sent me for syphilis bloods. Waiting on results and quietly falling apart.

Member experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

Your GP spotted something specific rather than guessing. A rash in those two places is one of the classic signs, and it’s the reason you’re being tested rather than being sent away with cream.

The thing to hold onto while you wait is that this is a very treatable infection, and it being picked up at this stage rather than years later is the good version of this story.

Mine was found the same way. Treatment was straightforward and the rash went. They’ll also want follow up bloods over a period afterwards, which isn’t a sign of anything going wrong, it’s just how they confirm it’s worked.

Positive, treated last week. Everyone here was right. Posting so the next person searching palm rash at 2am finds something calmer than what I found.
