Travelling with my medication

First trip abroad since diagnosis. Worried about customs, about labels, and about running out.

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

Practical points that come up repeatedly: keep medication in hand luggage rather than checked bags, keep it in the original labelled packaging, and take more than the trip length in case of delays.

A letter from your clinic confirming you are prescribed it is worth having even if nobody asks.

Check entry rules for the specific country well in advance. A small number of countries still have restrictions relating to HIV status, and the reliable sources are national ones rather than forum memory.

Time zones catch people out on daily dosing. Ask the clinic how to handle a large shift rather than improvising at three in the morning in an airport.
