Trichomoniasis

Trich and bacterial vaginosis at the same time

Diagnosed with both. Am I being treated twice for the same thing, since it looks like the same drug?

They are genuinely different: one is a parasite, the other is a shift in the balance of bacteria. The same drug family happens to be effective against both, which is why the prescription looks similar.

The two occurring together is common enough that finding one is a reason to look for the other.

The courses are not always identical in length or dose though, so follow what you were actually given rather than assuming one covers both.

Recurrence of the bacterial one is common and is not a sign the trich came back. Worth knowing so you do not read every returning symptom as a treatment failure.
