Warts or skin tags? I cannot tell and I am too scared to ask

Two small flesh coloured bumps. They could be anything. I have been looking at pictures online for three weeks, which has helped nobody.

I put this off for four months and the answer turned out to be a perfectly normal anatomical feature I had simply never noticed. Four months of dread for nothing.

Pictures online will never settle this and you will find something terrifying in every search. Skin tags, moles, sebaceous glands, pearly papules and warts all overlap visually, and even clinicians sometimes need a closer look.

A clinic appointment is a two minute examination and it is the only thing that will end the three weeks.

If the barrier is being examined, ask whether a photograph or a video appointment is possible. Some services do this and it gets you an answer without the room.
