Where do I even start? Got a call from the clinic

I had a routine screen two weeks ago and today the clinic rang and asked me to come in. They wouldn’t say anything on the phone beyond that. My appointment isn’t until Thursday and I have spent the whole afternoon reading things I probably shouldn’t have been reading.

Has anyone been through this? Does a phone call instead of a text always mean it’s bad?

NoteMember experience, not medical advice. Symptoms overlap between infections and only a test can tell them apart.

It doesn’t always mean bad. My clinic calls whenever anything needs treating in person or whenever they want to talk through partner notification, and both of those cover a lot of ground including things that are cured with one course of antibiotics.

Thursday is a horrible wait, I know. The one thing I’d say is go in with a notepad. I remembered almost nothing of what I was told the first time.

Same experience. Got the call, spent four days convinced my life was over, walked out twenty minutes later with a prescription and a follow up date.

Whatever it turns out to be, it’s a thing with a name and a path, and you’ll be on that path by Thursday afternoon.

Coming back to close the loop because these threads always seem to end without an update. It was chlamydia. Treated, partners told, retest booked. Thank you both, genuinely. The waiting was worse than the result.
