If you are still finding live lice after completing the full course as directed, that is the point to go back rather than buying a third box. Repeat failure sometimes means the product is not working, and sometimes means someone else in the picture was not treated.

One thing worth asking your own clinic: if you are pregnant, or become pregnant, the advice changes and they will want an earlier test. Say so if that applies to you.

Where persistent high risk HPV does eventually lead to something serious, that process typically runs over the better part of a decade. Screening exists to interrupt it years before that, and you have been picked up at the stage the programme was designed to catch.

If they do find changes that need treating, the treatment is usually a short outpatient procedure rather than anything major. Worth knowing now instead of imagining worse.
